Google Planning to Launch Apple iTunes Competitor for Music Services [Rumor]

At Mobile World Congress, Motorola’s Sanjay Jha that there will be a music service by Google for Android tablets. It looks like Google is planning to launch a full fledged music service similar to Apple’s iTunes which has sold around 10 billions songs since the launch in 2003. The iTunes like music store is expected with the Android 3.0 Honeycomb upgrade in next couple of months.

Here is what Sanjay told in MWC 2011,

If you look at Google Mobile services [via Android] today, there’s a video service, there’s a music service – that is, there will be a music service

Google is having Google Music in India but that is dependent on third parties like In.com. People are looking for iTunes like service on Android phone and it seems that Google is fully aware of this requirement.

This new addition of “Google Music” will definitely boost the sale of Android devices like upcoming tablets Motorola XOOM, LG Optimus Pad, Samsung Galaxy Tab 2 etc. which are going to run Android 3.0 Honeycomb on their powerful hardware.
