RELEASE – Smooth Slider Upgrade Version 2.1

A quick note that today we have released Smooth Slider version 2.1, with some minor but essential upgrades. The modifications and additions include

1. New – Now the images will not be sqashed to fit the size, rather they would be cropped properly. Used timthumb script. Caution: Please use the images stored on the same domain on the slider.
2. New – A new custom field slide_redirect_url can now be specified to redirect the slide to anothr URL than the permalink
3. Fixed – Admin menu dropdown were getting stuck only on Smooth Slider settings page, fixed that issue

Please refer the Smooth Slider plugin page for more details. And you can post all your valuable suggestions in Smooth Slider forum on Internet Techies.

  • ps: 2 notes:
    – in the settings page (V2.1) it prompts me to upgrade to 2.1 which I have already done
    – As I have checked the ‘original size’ option on Image size, Thm Thumb should not be used at all methinks?

  • One more request (sorry, I cannot edit the comments!): can you make the font colour of the slide numbers separate from the Title font colour?

My theme (and many other) uses a dark background for title tags, which makes either the title or numbers unreadable (or both half readable as I have chosen an intermediate shade of grey). Thanks!

  • Hi Harry,
Thanks for your feedback. We apologize for the issue related with smooth slider.

We have just released an upgrade (version 2.1.1) with the fixes. Please upgrade that to 2.1.1 to enjoy the smooth slider without any issue.

    Thanks for your patience.

  • I have the smooth slider on my blog. I believe it was my developer who spoke to you about a number of the changes that made it from version 2.0 to this current one. There is one small problem that I am hoping can get fixed. When the smooth slider goes from one slide to another, it often freezes the blog and I have to manually refresh the page to get it to work again. Has this been fixed with this new release?

  • I think this is not th isue with plugin. There some javascript library conflict there. Can you please come to the forum so that I could help you?
