Twitter Homepage Tweaked To Have Top Tweets

Twitter modified its homepage to have more content on it. You will find top tweets, who’s here and a feature marquee on the new home page. Of course the home page is having Twitter search at the top of it. I think Twitter is trying to build the real time newspaper where citizen journalists can show their talent by tweeting about a hot topic and by making that so popular.

FYI: Twitter had changed the homepage last year in the month of August as well to promote twitter search over there.

Top Tweets are coming from the verified account of twitter which is named as “http://twitter.com/toptweets/favorites”. There is some algorithem in twitter to select interesting tweets from the twitter world and retweet that with this account.

    changes are always good… And since when its something big like Twitter we can always expect some nice layout :)
    I like the new design..though somehow I don’t see it here….
