How To Change Gmail Theme
You can change the feel of your Gmail account by selecting the some suitable Gmail Theme for you. This is not related to any mailing feature and is not a must have feature for a email account. But, whenever you would use Gmail, you would feel refreshed with the looks of your choice and then you could continue with your essential tasks with your mail account.
1. In order to change the Theme (initially it would be Default Gmail theme), go to Settings link at the top right corner of the Gmail Page.
2. Go to the Themes tab of the settings
3. You can select any theme of your choice by clicking the theme image / thumbnail
4. There are some Gmail themes like Mountains, Pebbles, Summer Ocean etc that need location to be entered. This is because, these themes change shades depending on the time at that location. So when you click such type of themes, you get the option to enter the location and the Country/Region and the City.
4. When you click Save, the theme is saved and you are again taken to the main Gmail Page.
5. You can also create your own custom theme based on the structure of the default Gmail theme by selecting the Choose your own colors thumbnail at the very bottom of the theme list thumbnails. When you select that you would get the below window:
Remember that this would create a custom theme for you only and not for all other Gmail users. Also, this custom theme would be created from the Default theme as the basis and not any other theme you select from the themes list.
Important Point
Themes feature does not work on old browsers like Internet Explorer 6 and such. In fact theme feature is not visible there, neither the selected theme for your account.
