How To Create Gmail Account

Open http://mail.google.com/mail/signup in your browser or go to http://www.gmail.com and at the bottom right corner you would see “Create an account” button, click it.

You would get the below form:-

Fill up this form and submit it. Sometimes the form does not get submitted, in case if you have not entered something or if you have entered wrong code/captcha or password does not satisfy minimum requirements. So, re-enter the blank fields (you need to enter and re-enter the password as well as the Captcha every time the form submission is rejected, so do not panic).

You would get the below screen, if your account is created successfully.

Once you click “Show me my account >>”, you would enter to your Gmail account for the very first time which would look something like below:-

We would look into each of the sections and facilities here one by one in the upcoming articles. Just remember do not directly close the browser window, first log out / Sign Out of your account by clicking the sign out link at the top right corner of the Gmail screen and get successfully logged out. Closing the browser does not delete your login information from the browser cookies. So next time if anyone else opens Gmail in that browser, may be your Gmail account is naked before him or her.

Most of the times people forget to sign out from their email account, causing major security threats to their account, because anyone else sitting on that computer where you have left your Gmail account signed in could access your account and do anything (send some suspicious mail, change your password or anything more dangerous information theft to you). So please be cautious!
