Download Chrome OS (Unofficial) Free Operating System From Google
There are lot many talks about Google Chrome OS and its initial screenshots but here is the download link for the Google Chrome OS (Unofficial) which can be used to install Chrome OS on your disk. This operating system is build around Google Chrome browser. This is going to be a lightweight Linux distribution for power web browsing.
Google has provided some inbuilt software with this OS. They are as below:
1. GNOME 2.24 desktop environment
2. Google Chrome 4.0.207 browser
3. OpenOffice.org 3.0
4. Flash Player 10.0
5. Google Calendar
6. Gmail Apps and many more
Here is the download link for ISO copy of the Google Chrome operating system. As this copy of OS is still in development stage, you will have to be prepared for some initial bugs.

How To Install Google Chrome OS
Go ahead and download the .gz copy of the Google Chrome OS and then Unzipped it. Now burn the copy on a blank CD. Now boot your computer using that CD. Use the below user password and root password for at the time of boot,
User Password: user
Root Password: root
Now you will have to click on “Live Installer” to install Google Chrome OS on your hard disk because you can’t run chrome OS from Live CD. Go ahead and install the OS on your hard disk. Now reboot your computer with hard disk and then start using Google Chrome OS.

I would love to install this, and check it out, as I am a huge Google fan. However, after copying the iso to a CD, booting and booting to the CD, I seem unable to install. I have tried the default “Chrome OS” option, and have tried the “Failsafe–Chrome OS”. After making the choice. (either), the system just seems to stop doing anything. After a few minutes, my computer reboots, and comes right back to the install screen. Any suggestions?
In case it matters, my system currently has Vista installed. This is a secondary computer that I have nothing of importance on. I use it for things just such as this since I don’t have to worry about losing any important data on it.

@Rex Once you started the installation, remove the disk from the CD as it will again start booting from CD itself. It should now boot from hard disk. Start the installation process and then remove the CD from Drive and let it boot from hard disk. I think that will resolve your problem.
Should have also said that when I choose Chrome OS or Failsafe, it does load the system kernel, and progresses through that. Then….. seems to do nothing.

Thanks for the reply. I tried your suggestion. After the Kernel loads, I see the logo. I then removed the CD. Seems to do nothing for a couple of minutes; then reboots…. going into Windows Vista. Other ideas?

Chrome suck, well develop and i love the GUI, what i can say go ahead, i will develop application and Extend the API of chrome
what guys its a suse linux loded with chrom browser its not google green operating system ….
Is Chrome OS just a google customized linux system with Chrome… seems it’s based on linux kernal.

This is not the current version of chrome OS but the developer version (initial one). This built is also based on the chromium OS which is the base for Chrome OS. Ofcourse there will be some additional feature in Chrome OS as the time proceed. Thanks for sharing your thought.
