I was trying to upgrade to WordPress 3.0.2 and initially the automatic upgrade failed. Then I upgarded it manually using FTP. It was successful. The dashboard said that ‘You are using WordPress 3.0.2’. But the issue was I was still getting the message on the top of all the admin screens that ‘An automated WordPress update has failed to complete – please attempt the update again now.’

Wordpress Team is working on the new version i.e. 3.0 and as per the roadmap of releases, Wordpress 3.0 is expected to release in May 2010. Wordpress has released version 2.9.2 with a simple update for those who has open their blog registration for everyone and having untrusted users. If your blog is having untrusted logged in users then they can play with he “Trash” posts written by other authors as well. FYI, Trash feature came in Wordpress 2.9 to keep the deleted posts for time being and then you can permanently delete them from your blog. But as reported by some Wordpress developers, every logged in user is having unwanted access to trash posts even written by other authors.
