Here is the 10 best reasons for supporting the fact that PC gaming is better than consoles:
1) Use of Mouse and Keyboard in PC: The combination of keyboard and mouse really works in much better manner than controllers on console.
2) Screen Resolution: The screen resolution is truly high in PC
3) Upgrade the Hardware: One can upgrade the hardware of his PC by spending few bucks and can get the latest one. That is not possible in console.
4) Cheaper Games: The PC games are very much cheaper than the console. You can play so many games in PC at the price of one in console.
5) Free modes: In PC gaming, you can use plug-ins or some unofficial upgrade. For example studio works in NFS (Need for Speed). That is not possible in console.
6) Not tied to online service: You don’t have to suffer downtimes in PC games, well in console you will be single handed depending on Xbox live or Playstaton network.
7) Unlimited Storage Space: The features in PC are always better than console as it is designed for other purposes also. PC’s storage capacity is much higher than console where you can save your games and do many more things.
8) Download for free: There are many older games legally available to download for PC gamers.
9) Always pay extra for playing online: You will have to pay every time you play online for Xbox live. That is really expansive.
10) Unofficial fixes for older games: In PC games, there are so many people out there who provide unofficial support by fixing the bugs and all. That is not available in console as well.

Agreed, it also goes to say games for xbox are also made from PC. Though the problem with PC is that it don’t get the exclusive games that consoles are getting.
this is a good article but i still think console gaming is better.
firstly my laptop cost 3 times as much as my ps3 and the games look half as good on my laptop.
secoundly when you buy a game for your ps3 you know its going to work when you buy it for a PC you can never be certain.
thirdly pc controls work better for FPS,RPG and RTS but console controls(ps3) work better for Racers, adventure and platformers.
i use my laptop for RTS games(because i can put up with bad graphics in an RTS) but thats it everything else i buy for my PS3

Actually I’ve been thinking of getting back into PC gaming. I’d like my PC to be my home entertainment center. Like you said, you can upgrade and get the best possible resolution. I have a PS3 and Xbox 360 but I feel each is limited in scope. The PS3 just isn’t what was initially promised. Very few games run beyond true 720p for example. The web browser is atrocious compared to my older PC. The Xbox 360 is also limited. In Canada there is no NetFlix so part of the Live fees aren’t justified. Also games are now limited with DVD technology on the console.
I love RTS games so that is another reason why I’d like to get back into PC games. Plus MMORPG’s just don’t seem to be happening much on consoles. However I love the Forza/GT games on consoles and the platformers like Ratchet and action games like Uncharted as well. Tough decision. Problem is the console market seems to be getting most of the focus now, and with motion controls being such a marketable venture the PC may be the only hardcore gaming platform left in the near future.

most ppl who have a desktop pc even if its 2 years old.. only need to get a 150usd gpu to make their pcs into super gaming machines.
this small 150usd upgrade makes the pc more powerful then both the xbox and ps3 combined.
plus its games are cheaper anywhere between 10-25usd.
150usd is like price difference of 15games. so the gpu pays for it self and later on pc gaming actually becomes cheaper and superior.

Come on it’s all about personal preference. There literally is no better gaming device. Also yes I agree with all these points, but it is not every person who can actually do all these things with a computer (the common Halo player). I would play on PC if I could, but I simply don’t have the money.
#1 reason why gaming on pc DIED… $200-$500 upgrades for some new titles just to play… #1 FRAG FX for ps3 works VERY GOOD near pc like quality mouse. #2 PC if you want 1920×1080 you better blow over 1000 on equipment dual video cards etc even then you can’t run crysis right… #6 Admins boot at will when you own them on pc… #9 you pay extra for PC games like WoW monthly subscriptions… Also planetside… THE BIGGEST ISSUE WITH PC GAMING, Subscriber hacks and people downloading skills. PC = LONG DEAD. The #1 game played on pc is counterstrike why? Cause people dont have to make massive expensive upgrades. PC = FAIL when a game that is over 8 years old is still #1. When I say #1 for counterstrike I mean 100,000 players on. Halo 3 had over 1 million so did COD4 on console Xbox. I have never in 10 years of online gaming seen any game have that much population on at one time.
Pc gaming died somewhere around COD4 when programmers decided to release hacks with a subscription. Warning cheaters when to play and when not to play to protect them from Hardware bans.
As of now Console has destroyed pc. Notice the video cards aren’t 800 dollars aymore? Ati and Nvidia know where the $ is why else do you think they are in xbox and ps3? They realize pc cannot be revived.

well i gave up PC gaming as it almost always being release unpolished! i think my last 10 game i played on pc needed some patches or bug fixes weeks after it releases. that is just ridiculous. the always-not-enough pc setup it requires also made me fed up, need upgrade within months. console more straightforward, put disc, play till death. at least i no need to worry to spend on upgrading for at least a couple of years, or if it broke.
if onlive works than pc gaming will own consoles. until then console gamings just better
I own and play on all platforms. I have a tricked out PC running with very expensive components (285s in sli, smok’n processor, tons of ram, da works). Even though I have a PC beast, I play more games on consoles than my PC. However the PC does have its own exclusives and some games just interface better with a keyboard and mouse. C&C Red Aleart 3 for example was a PC purchase, no way I would play that with a console controller. Aside from its traditional controller, I have to say that the PS3 is one heck of an expandible system and gives my PC major compitition when it comes to game time (the system supports internal hard drive upgrades as well as memory sticks and USB external hard drives). The PC however owns hands down when it comes to RTS titles or GPU taxing shooters like Farcry 2 and Crysis. The console side has far more variety and more AAA releases these days.
the thing that sucks about PC gaming and keeps me off it is.
1 its so god dam expensive.
i wanted to upgrade my PC but if i did i needed a new MB, than i would need a new CPU and such.
would of cost me over 1K so i built a new PC that ended up costing me 3000 AUD.
much more than i expected.
you spend 500 AUD on a ps3 and thats it every single ps3 game you buy will work with the ps3, no need to worry if a game will work.
not to mention if said game does not work your stuffed you cant take it back to the shops because they dont accept them.
console games dont like them, return within 7 days for full refund.
