The important thing is the pricing where Apple has decided to keep the pricing of iPad 2 same as the original iPad. In fact, the original iPad prices will go down by $100. This means, you can buy iPad 1 (original iPad) 16GB Wi-Fi version at $399 and iPad 2 16GB Wi-Fi version at $499. iPad 2 will come in 16/32/64GB versions and Wi-Fi and Wi-Fi + 3G versions.
Apple has announced that shipping for iPad 2 will start from March 11, 2011. Currently there is no sign of pre-order on Apple store for iPad 2.
Note: Apple iPad 2 will come in white and black colors. Unlike white iPhone 4 which delayed for so long, the white iPad will be available from March 11 only i.e. first day of shipping.
Apart from iPad 2, in this event Apple also released iMovie and GarageBand app for iPad which are available in App Store at $4.99 . Using iMovie, one can shoot and edit videos on iPad and then upload the same on YouTube, FaceTime, MobileMe etc. One can also play the video on TV using HDMI out.
Watch the Apple iPad 2 event video on Quick Time Player and share your experience of seeing iPad 2 launch.
Note: Steve Jobs is looking fit and normal in this event, so I think there is no need to worry much on that part. God bless Apple and Steve.
