Recently I purchased a BlackBerry Curve and started exploring lot many things on that. After some explorations, I thought to share few learning so that if any of you are going to purchase that in near future then you can complete the setup easily on that. In this post, I am going to show you a very basic setup on your BlackBerry. This may be probably the very first step after BlackBerry service activation on your BB.
Whether you are having email ID on Gmail, Yahoo, AOL or any other domain, you can setup that on BlackBerry to receive and send mails thru Push function.
Settings Changes On Gmail
Before starting the Gmail account setup on BlackBerry, you will have to enable POP function on Gmail Settings page. Go to your Gmail account and click on Settings. Now under the Forwarding and POP/IMAP tab, Enable POP for all mail. Save the changes and now start setup on BlackBerry.
Run Setup On BlackBerry
To start the email setup on BlackBerry, follow the below instructions.
1. Navigate to Setup on your BlackBerry screen
2. Now Go to “Setup Wizard”
3. Move to “Email Setup” and then you can add new email ID on that screen. There you will get option like Gmail, Yahoo, AOL or any other. If you are going to setup your Gmail account then click on Gmail and press next. Now enter email ID and password. It’s done. Now you can see a new icon on your home screen with your email ID
This is how you can setup Gmail or any other email on a new BlackBerry Smartphone for the first time.
