In previous update, PayPal Asia Operation had told us that Indian PayPal users will have to use “Exporter ID” to get the amount into their local banks and there were speculations hat the ID is nothing but Importer Exporter Code (IEC) but today’s update has clarified the issue that the new field has nothing to do with “Exporter ID” but that is a “Purpose Code”. Purpose Code is a simple code defined for PayPal to tell bank authorities about the reason of withdrawal.
According to the Purpose Codes published by PayPal, If you are a blogger and want to withdraw money from your PayPal account then you should use “P0805” as purpose code at the time of withdrawal. Below attached is the complete list of purpose codes for different purposes of withdrawal.

Currently there is no purpose code provided for donations and personal payments because these type of payments are still suspended to and from India. You can start withdrawing your PayPal money from 3’rd March 2010 using appropriate Purpose Code from above list.
