On June 9, 2011 Google released a playable, recording guitar doodle on the occasion of Les Paul’s birthday. The guitar was available on search engine’s homepage for 2 complete days and is still available on this page. Before embedding the guitar doodle, the plan was to keep it on homepage just for one day like other doodles but popularity of this live guitar changed the plan and it got one day extension. People around the world tried and played lot many songs on this doodle. They also shared their own short links with other through email or social media like Facebook and Twitter. Lot many of them uploaded their screencast on YouTube.
