Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx Alpha 1 released in last month and now Ubuntu team has released the Alpha 2 of Lucid Lynx. You can download and test the Alpha 2 version on your computer or server.
What’s New in Lucid Lynx Alpha 2
As there were some guesses that Gimp will be removed from Alpha 2 as well, but Gimp is still there. Apart from that there are some newly added features and some removal.
Lot many games has been removed from Lucid Lynx Alpha 2 and now only six default games are there as below:
- AisleRiot Solitaire
- gbrainy
- Mahjongg
- Mines
- Quadrapassel
- Sudoku
The Shutdown button Applet has been changed in new Lucid Lynx. Now you can set your status using a social applet (newly added) and then there is a shutdown button which can be used to shutdown the Ubuntu System.
Software Center is having a new “Free Software” category under “Get Software”. The breadcrumb has a new stylish design like Apple’s site navigation.
What Next
After the release of Ubuntu 10.04 Lucid Lynx Alpha 2, the next Alpha release is scheduled for 25’th February 2010. The final Stable version of Lucid Lynx is scheduled for 29’th April 2010.
