Facebook a social networking giant has made some changes in their platform tonight. They are going to launch some new APIs to share your Facebook Status, Notes, Links (what we used to call Posted Items), and Video to public. That means you can reach to the people who are new to you as well. It will of course impact the dream of Twitter for being “Mainstream” tool.
Here is the announcement from Facebook Developers blog:
Specifically, your applications can now directly access all of a user’s status, links, and notes via new methods and FQL calls. Your application will have access to any status, notes, or links from the active user or their friends that are currently visible to the active user. In addition, we’re opening new APIs for you to post links, create notes, or upload videos for the current user, and we’ve made setting a user’s status easier.
Below is the list of changes that are made by Facebook team.
-
You can share your status update to public that means it will appear in your profile page for public..
-
Share links and videos to public to attract more traffic to your blog or advertise your website.
-
Share notes on your profile page which will also add value to your Facebook account.
Changes are not reflecting yet, but will appear very soon.
Now we can expect Twitter and other social networking sites to come up with some new ideas to attract more and more followers. Please let us know your views thru comments.
