Quick Launch Toolbar was available by default in Windows versions prior to the Windows 7 i.e. XP, Vista etc. Now Windows 7 is having pin option to stick the icon of application on the taskbar to access them quickly. But still there are applications which adds icons in the quick launch toolbar. So once you will install those application and keep the quick launch toolbar icon option checked, that will add an icon in quick launch. That means there is no need to have the application manually pinned on the taskbar. If you really want the quick launch toolbar on Windows 7, then here is a workaround to get that in no time.
Note: There is no direct option to check and enable quick launch toolbar on Windows 7 taskbar.
Enable Quick Launch Toolbar in Windows 7
Right click on the taskbar and select “Toolbars ==> New Toolbar”
Paste “%userprofile%\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Internet Explorer\Quick Launch” (without quotes) in the folder box and hit enter
Turn off the “Lock the taskbar” by right clicking on taskbar and select the same
Right click on the “Quick Launch” text appearing on the taskbar and uncheck “Show title” and “Show text” options
Now drag the quick launch toolbar added on taskbar. You can drag that by sliding the divider with the help of mouse.
That’s it. Now you have the old looking quick launch toolbar on Windows 7 taskbar. Now “lock the taskbar” from the settings panel of taskbar (right click on the bar).
