Condition: You should have Gmail ID and that should be the ID for communication on Twitter.

Say your Gmail ID is : [email protected]

Steps to manage your Twitter Followers using Gmail Inbox

Step 1: Login to your Gmail account and check a mail from Twitter

Step 2: Twitter send you a mail whenever someone follows you there, so open any of that mail which you got recently.

Step 3: Note down the email ID from which the mail came to you. In case of above example ID, the sender’s mail would be

twit[email protected]

Step 4: Create a filter to get the twitter mail labeled as well as delivered in a separate folder (other than the Inbox). To create a filter, click on the “Create filter” button at the top of you mailbox (as shown below).

filter1

Step 5: A new window will appear. There you need to fill the “From” column with the email ID from Step 3. Click on the “Next Step” button after that.

filter2

Step 6: Now filter the mails from the email ID mentioned in the “From” column in such a way that it should skip the Inbox of Gmail account, get labeled with some name and then it should move into a separate folder named by you (for me its twitter). The next screen will ask you for these things as shown below,

filter 3  Step 7: Click on the “Create Filter” button. You are done. Now you have a clean Inbox in Gmail and you can manage your twitter followers by replying them with a welcome message or sending them a link of your blog. This way you can use twitter more effectively.

You can choose the option as “Not to skip the Inbox” but get labeled with some name and color. This way you can directly look at the labeled mails and respond to them.

Go ahead and find the people near you who are using Twitter and manage them effectively in a very simple and faster way.
